About the Artist

Fari Ali is an artist, poet and women's rights activist.  She was born and raised in Mumbai, India.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Comm.) and masters degree in Laws (LL.M).  She has completed her professional studies in Human Resources in Canada and has taught at Sheridan College. She moved to Canada in 1995 and lives in Ontario with her husband and daughter.

Fari has travelled extensively throughout Canada, USA, Europe, India, Middle East and Far East to collect material for her paintings.  Her style is Realism.  She has painted numerous landscapes, life like portraits and customizes art for any occasion.  She works mainly in Oils but also does Fabric Art, Glass painting and Pencil Sketches.  She has held many exhibitions in Canada and abroad.

She has written poems in English, Hindi and in Urdu for which she won the Maharashtra State Academy Award.
