Farida Ali is an artist, poet, and women's rights activist. She was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Comm.) and a Masters degree in Law (LL.M) from the University of Bombay. After arriving in Canada in 1995, she completed her professional studies in Human Resources and has taught at Sheridan College. She currently lives in Ontario with her husband and daughter.
Fari has travelled extensively throughout Canada, the USA, Europe, India, the Middle East and the Far East to capture photographs for her paintings. She has painted numerous landscapes, life-like portraits, and customized art for many occasions. She works mainly with oils but also does fabric art, glass painting, and pencil sketches. She has held many exhibitions in Canada and abroad (Bahrain Art Gallery, Oakville Art Gallery, Ajax Town Hall, and more).
Fari has also written poems in English, Hindi, and Urdu for which she won the Maharashtra State Academy Award. Fancy that!

Hobbies and Pursuits: Painting, yoga, painting, reading, painting... and more painting.
Goals: Own a bright art studio and gallery as an artistic oasis. She also wants a Lexus.
